Can drones inspect commercial roofs?

Yes. Drone inspection can provide detailed imagery of commercial roofs, including roof coverings, joints, flashings, drainage areas, rooflights, penetrations and other high-level components. It can be particularly useful as an initial inspection method before deciding whether physical access or further specialist investigation is required.

What is a thermal drone inspection?

A thermal drone inspection uses a radiometric thermal camera to record differences in surface temperature. These temperature patterns can help identify anomalies associated with areas such as building envelopes, insulation, solar installations and electrical or mechanical assets. Thermal findings should be interpreted in context and may require further investigation.

Can thermal imaging detect water leaks?

Thermal imaging can sometimes identify temperature patterns associated with moisture when environmental and building conditions are suitable. It does not directly “see” water or prove the cause of a leak, so suspected moisture-related anomalies may require further investigation or specialist assessment.

Can drones inspect façades and cladding?

Yes. Drone inspections can capture detailed imagery of elevations, cladding, glazing interfaces, joints and other high-level façade components. This can help identify areas requiring closer assessment while reducing the need to use conventional access solely for an initial visual inspection.

Can drones inspect solar panels?

Yes. Visual and thermal drone inspection can be used across commercial solar installations. Thermal imagery can help identify abnormal temperature behaviour or potential hotspots across panels, allowing suspect areas to be identified for further investigation.

Does a drone inspection replace a building survey?

No. DRONE FORCE® provides aerial inspection data and evidence. Where a formal diagnosis, structural assessment, certification or professional opinion is required, the information may need to be reviewed by an appropriately qualified surveyor, engineer or other specialist.

What do I receive after a drone inspection?

Deliverables depend on the agreed inspection scope and may include high-resolution aerial photography, detailed imagery of specified areas, thermal imagery where applicable, video evidence, annotated observations and organised digital inspection evidence.

Can you inspect high-rise and difficult-to-access buildings?

Drone technology can be particularly useful for high-level and difficult-to-access assets. Every site is assessed individually because factors including the surrounding environment, airspace, people, structures and operational requirements determine how an inspection can be conducted.
